Double Date

On Friday Jonny and I went on a double date with my old roommate Jessica and her hubby Steve. Jess and I had been talking about doing a double for a long time and we finally planned one. We went to Rumbi for dinner. We had so much fun catching up over dinner and talking about some of the weird names people give their children. Then we went to and outdoor movie at BYU, they were showing Planet 51.

As we were watching there was some lightning off in the distance. I LOVE lightning but always seem to miss the bolts, so I was paying more attention to the sky than the movie. The lightning started moving closer and then you started to be able to hear the thunder. A few people started leaving. Then the lightning really started getting crazy. It was all over the sky. There were massive bolts that stretched across the entire sky and turn the sky purple. It was so cool! I loved it. The wind started to pick up and it started to smell like rain and ever more people left. We just stayed and kept watching the movie. Then the rain started and everyone started to make a run for it. The four of us were going to stay and finish the movie (there was only like five mins left) but they decided to cut it short. Even if we didn't get to finish the movie we had fun and I think the lightning show we got was even better than the movie.

Is it Spring?

You would think after five years of living in Provo I would be used to the weather. I'm not. We had a few days of gorgeous weather. Sunny, blue skies, short sleeves, wonderful. However, it goes from being sunny and nice one day to cold and rainy/snowy the next. Actually, it goes from being nice and sunny one hour to cold and rainy the next hour. I went to work the other day in short sleeves with the cool air on because it was so warm. On the way home, I had the heater on and was wishing I had a coat. We watched the weather go from sunny, to extremely windy, to overcast and snowing. At one point it was sunny and snowing. Pretty much I am done with this weather. I am ready for summer. I am ready for sunny days and the pool. But, I have decided that I still have at least a month of this crazy incorporative weather, and based on the past I can almost guarantee a snow storm, so to make it better... I want a big red umbrella. I just feel like they are cheerful and it would make me happy on a rainy (or snowy) day.

Doesn't it just seem happier? Plus, I have my cute boy to keep me company under the umbrella! There is just something cool about them.

Spring is HERE!

Finally spring is really here! The snow is gone and the weather is beautiful. There is still some rain but that's ok it doesn't last long and I do like rain is small amounts.I love all the flowers but I hate the trees with the white flowers, they smell awful but at least they look kinda nice. And it is so nice to have the pool open and the grill is open too. Ashley and I went out to the pool today and yesterday and laid out and got free food and drinks. I just wanted to share my happiness about the warm weather with everyone.

I thought it was April...but I guess I'm wrong.

Ok, so I know spring weather in Utah is always a little crazy but a full on snowstorm, really? Last year I complained because it was snowing in April but that was for like an hour and then warmed up. Today I left the apartment a little before noon to go to campus and it had started to snow but it was wet and not sticking. On the way back from campus an hour later it had started to stick a little bit. Then it just kept snowing all day, it stopped for like two hours and then started again. I honestly think this is one of the worst snow storms we have had this season. The roads were not fun taking Jonny home tonight, tree branches are falling because of the snow, really no fun at all! Yes, I actually took this picture tonight this isn't from a few months ago. But it is supposed to be into the high 60s by Sunday and 70 on Monday, so here's hoping!
