Pillows and Cake

Here are a few other recent projects. I saw pillows like these a few months ago and I had to make them for my mom. So I made them for her birthday. They took a lot of work and time but they were worth it. Jonny cut out the letters and did an excellent job.
And another cake. My coworker was turning 30 and when I asked him what kind of cake he wanted his response was Elmo. So that is what he got.
It also took a lot of time and work but I think he turned out pretty perfect. There is no question that it's Elmo.

Anniversary

Last Thursday was mine and Jonny's 7th anniversary. We decided to try somewhere different for dinner. So we went to Joe's Crab Shack. The food was good and we had fun trying something different.
We were a little over dressed for Joe's but that is okay. We thought it was funny to wear the bibs with our nice dress clothes and I got to see Jonny in his awesome new suit!
Here is the anniversary present I got for Jonny. I'm pretty much the best gift giver EVER!
(just kidding it was just parked in the parking lot and we thought it was cool.)

I'm so lucky to have such an amazing boyfriend. I love him!

Baby Blankets

I haven't really been doing a whole lot recently hence the lack of posting. The things I have been doing are things like seeing movies and working out, which don't really lend well to exciting posts. I have also finally finished some baby blankets I have been making. I have a few friends who are having babies and I got a sewing machine for Christmas so I decided to make rag quilts. They involve cutting lots of squares, then sewing X's on said squares and the sewing the squares together. It is time consuming but I think they turned out really well so I guess they are worth it! Here are two of the ones I have made.

I gave the pink and purple (if you can tell the colors) one to my old roommate Kasey who is pregnant with baby girl #2. I'm mad at myself for not taking pictures at her baby shower because it was so adorable. It was a tea party and the host went all out with tables set with her grandmother's china and twinkle lights for decoration. It was fun to get to see Kasey and celebrate her new little bundle of joy.
I also made a blue and yellow blanket for Karleigh's friend. Kars put the finishing touches on it so I will have to post pictures when I get them from her. Then I have one more girl one to do then I have a break for at least a little bit!
