Bananas

I have an interesting relationship with bananas. I cannot stand them, but I really, really want to like them. I know it sounds weird.
I don't like the flavor but it is the texture that really gets to me. They are mushy and slimy and just not appetizing. Also, the ruin otherwise delicious fruit salads. If you put in a banana every other fruit automatically tastes like banana. However, I still want to like them. They just seem so convenient and healthy. If you are running late you can just grab a banana and head out the door. Which is why it would be great if I liked them.
A few summers ago Karleigh and I tried to eat a banana and I was able to do two bites. Despite my hate for bananas I love banana bread.
Karleigh and I also made banana pancakes which were pretty good. But that's about all I can do. I also cannot stand banana candy, the smell of it also grosses me out. Which is too bad since Jonny loves banana flavored candy. This post was inspired by a fruit salad that was tainted by bananas, so was, sadly, not too enjoyable. So yeah, I really hate bananas. Why can't I like them?

It must be a familial thing because I feel the exact same way...I desperately want to like them, but I just can't :(

It's your dads fault. He hates bananas too. At least he did a long time ago.
No big deal! Who cares if you don't like bananas? You can get potassium from other fruits and vegies ya know. The banana doesn't hold the monopoly on vitamin K.
Sorry, but it sounds to me like you're never going to like them.
Try chocolate chip banana bread. Chocolate makes everything better.
I'll send you my awesome recipe.

I have the same problem!! Seriously the people that love them are in a good place in this world. It's a shame I can't get over the texture, maybe one day!

Sorry Holly but you did get this from your dad. I am the only one who seems to be able to eat and enjoy bananas in our family. I don't like them when they get too soft and slimy, who would? They have to be just ripe. Your dad does tolerate them on cereal every once in a while but then, he doesn't taste things as well anymore.
